Mario Sandoval: Kahit Ako'y Lupa, a film starring Romnick Sarmenta, opened in theaters on January 20, 1993. This Seiko Films production also stars Donita Rose, Jennifer Sevilla, Efren Reyes, Lito Legaspi, Joonee Gamboa, and Jovit Moya. Abbo Q. dela Cruz directed the film:
As we can read on the top of the poster, the film is intended to package Romnick Sarmenta as an action star: "A Fighting Cock in the Year of the Rooster in Our Opening Salvo for 1993!"
Prior to this film, Sarmenta was usually paired with the actress Sheryl Cruz in romantic drama films. Their screen partnership was touted as one of the most popular love teams during the late Eighties and early Nineties.
The Tagalog blurb reads, "Si Mario ay isang lupa na naghangad angkinin ang langit! Inihahandog namin ang pelikulang ito sa masang naghihikahos ngunit lumalaban upang matakasan ang kahirapan."
Mario is the earth who wished to inherit the heaven! We present this film to the masses that are impoverished but struggle to escape poverty.)
Like in other Seiko Films productions, the tagline "If it's from Seiko, it must be good!" can be read on the bottom of the poster
