Frequently asked questions!!

Q: How often will you be hosting these tournaments?
A: Depending on the turnout. I’m looking at doing this every other month. The higher the turnout, the more often these tournaments will be held.

Q: Why should I join this tournament? Won’t all the ‘pros’ be there?! I won’t have a chance of winning!
A: Because of this.

The above link is a must-read in my opinion.

And also because I hope we’ll all have a good time knowing the rest of the people in the Philippines SF4 scene. Let’s all have fun playing this game that we all love together!

For those that think they’re really good, come down and prove it.

Q: Why are you hosting this tournament? What do you have to gain from it?
A: I don’t receive any money whatsoever from this. There are two big reasons why I’m doing this.
1) To get the whole SF4 Philippines community together. Currently, it’s pretty fragmented.
2) To increase the level of SF4 play in the Philippines. The possibility of that, and I want to put Philippines’ SF4 scene on the world map with match videos and hopefully see some Pinoys at international tournaments soon!

GOUKEN in SF IV

Photobucket

Finally the master of Ryu and Ken has taken gameplay form… It looks like he doesn’t play like a shoto. I hope it’s already here in the Philippines.

Information so far
Normal hado and AA hado are seperate attacks. AA hado comes after straight hado in EX form. ( not sure which hado’s EX it is though) Thanks Reno

Ground Tatsu is MvC2 Ken tatsu. ( 1 ground hit, then goes straight up to combo ) if blocked or missed, leaved Gouken WIDE open.

Air tatsu goes straight like Evil Ryu’s in CvS2. Ex version shown, but dont see a differance besides its a little faster.

No shoryu

has a demon flip, but only one variation of it was displayed so far ( sweep variation )

has a dashing punch special. It goes through regular fireballs, but nor EX ones. Doesnt look safe on block. EX version has 2 hits.

Focus Attack = Joudan kick ( from SFIII )

His b+Throw is a back body drop wwe-style. CPU Gouken didn’t do anything after it, but it looks like you can connect with dash punch or hurricane kick or fireball afterwards. - Reno

It seems that Gouken has a counter move or something. I saw someone block his rush punch and tried to punish with a sweep. Gouken literally exploded in a splash of black ink (a la focus attack) and the dude was sent flying to the other side of the screen. It wasn’t a blade kick so it wasn’t his focus attack, it looked like a counter for sure. - Reno

Super = ???
Ultra = Shin Shoryuken. If blocked turns into regular shoryuken.

normals look different then other shotos.

Thanks to Reno from SRK for additional info on the attacks.
