Balabagan is a former migrant worker who was sentenced to death in the United Arab Emirates for killing her employer who was attempting to rape her. *** The story is based on the experiences of Grepor 'Butch' Belgica as a reformed juvenile delinquent. About a week after the release of this movie, Grepor 'Butch' Belgica was sworn in as member of the Manila City Council from the sixth district.

*** The Grepor 'Butch' Belgica Story took about ten years to develop, with Rudy Fernandez as Belgica's original choice to portray him. He then opted for former child actor Joko Diaz, who was launched in this movie.
