NOTE:

*** Synopsis (Based on VHS cover): The story of a woman's realization that love has to be deserved and earned, not bought with money and power, coupled with a overdose of aggressive seduction.

The domineering Racquel seduces Leandro, the manager of the family's garment factory, into marriage -- only to find out that he is impotent beside her, but not with the submissive Anita, whom Leandro first hired to be their maid ends up being his mistress. 

When Racquel discovers their affair, the two run away to a remote fishing village where they thought  Racquel would never find them and the baby Anita would later give birth to.

Racquel finds them in a few years, tries to kill both of them, but changes her mind when even when the life of the innocent baby was endangered in the havoc she was creating. Racquel leaves the family in peace and starts a new life for herself.


*** This movie was released on the same day as Gayuma (Tagalog: Love Potion) starring Amanda Page (see entry below). A few days prior, both Rosanna Roces and Amanda Page appeared on the TV talk program Showbiz Lingo to promote their respective movies.

In a nod to her TV commercial at that time Amanda Page said, "Panoorin niyo ang Gayuma para kayo magayuma. (Watch Gayuma so you will get charmed.)" The equally outspoken Rosanna Roces responded, "Ang gayuma, hindi tumatagal kapag nabasa sa dagat; wala nang bisa. (The love potion does not last long if it gets wet in the sea -- not effective anymore.)"

***  This movie bears a number of similarities with the 1990 film Alyas Pogi: Birador ng Nueva Ecija (Tagalog: Alias Handsome: Slayer of Nueva Ecija). In Alyas Pogi, lead villain Agapito (Edu Manzano) sought revenge after Henry Cruz, a.k.a. Pogi (Bong Revilla), killed the former's brother Erik (Edwin Reyes). 

In Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo, lead villain Mike (Edu Manzano) sought revenge after Abner (Bong Revilla) killed the former's brother Arnold (Jorge Estregan). Gary, one of Mike's henchmen, is played by Edwin Reyes.

In the opening scene of Alyas Pogi, the epoonymous character (Bong Revilla) killed a bus holdupper named Emilio (Jorge Estregan). In the opening scene of Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo, Bong Revilla's character also killed Jorge Estregan's character.

Tommy Abuel plays the role of Erning, Henry's best friend, in Alyas Pogi. He plays the role of Major Baltazar, Abner's immediate superior, in Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo.

*** Similar to the 1994 film Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis (Tagalog: There's No Tough Cop to a Clever Wife), Jimmy Santos plays the role of a sidekick named Billy.
