Flashback: Jose P. Laurel Takes Oath as President
Exactly 69 years ago today, Jose P. Laurel took oath as President of the Second Philippine Republic. During the Second World War, the Japanese military government established the Second Philippine Republic as its puppet state replacing the Commonwealth that was inaugurated in 1935.
