***  Jessica Alfaro is a witness in the 1991 rape-slay of Carmela Vizconde and the murder of her mother and younger sister inside the Vizconde family residence.

*** The film generated legal controversy as it was produced and promoted while the case against Hubert Webb and others was ongoing, resulting in warnings about violating the sub judice rule and infringing on the rights of the accused. The controversy culminated in a Supreme Court case, Viva Productions, Inc. v. Court of Appeals, which tackled the allegations of contempt and forum shopping by Webb against the film's producers.

***  This movie bears a number of similarities with the 1990 film Alyas Pogi: Birador ng Nueva Ecija (Tagalog: Alias Handsome: Slayer of Nueva Ecija). In Alyas Pogi, lead villain Agapito (Edu Manzano) sought revenge after Henry Cruz, a.k.a. Pogi (Bong Revilla), killed the former's brother Erik (Edwin Reyes). 

In Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo, lead villain Mike (Edu Manzano) sought revenge after Abner (Bong Revilla) killed the former's brother Arnold (Jorge Estregan). Gary, one of Mike's henchmen, is played by Edwin Reyes.

In the opening scene of Alyas Pogi, the epoonymous character (Bong Revilla) killed a bus holdupper named Emilio (Jorge Estregan). In the opening scene of Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo, Bong Revilla's character also killed Jorge Estregan's character.

Tommy Abuel plays the role of Erning, Henry's best friend, in Alyas Pogi. He plays the role of Major Baltazar, Abner's immediate superior, in Batas Ko ang Katapat Mo.

*** Similar to the 1994 film Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis (Tagalog: There's No Tough Cop to a Clever Wife), Jimmy Santos plays the role of a sidekick named Billy.

Ogie Alcasid eventually resigned from Tropang Trumpo to do another TV sketch comedy show for GMA. The said show Bubble Gang premiered on October 1995. Its thirtieth anniversary will be celebrated a few weeks from now.
